Im a mother of four and a grandmother of seven. The vibe I get from just being around children is uplifting. My passion strongly influenced my decision to pursue the duties of a child care facility owner. As a child care facility owner, a variety of skills are required. The main skills required include active listening, speaking, social perceptiveness, coordination, time management and negotiation.
Children can be stressful, but it takes a positive attitude and patience, to deal with a child. Children are more than just infants, toddlers and preschoolers, are the future. My own passion for working with young children extends from wanting to emulate those role models and have the same impact on other children.
My vision was to create and maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment for all children, families, and staff which promotes social/emotional competence as a foundation for developing the whole child.

Hi, my name is Toniya Singleton, Administrative Director of LanCare Academy for almost two years now. I was so excited about this opportunity. I enjoy watching the children learn and grow. It’s amazing to see how much they change in the course of a couple of years. Being a mother of four, I know first hand how precious these years are because they pass by so quickly. In my spare time I like spending time with family and working on projects around our house. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful children, families and co-workers!
My goal is to provide child care that meets the needs of each child and family in a safe, educational environment. We pride our center’s focus on the individual needs of each child, while providing quality, reliable and safe child care.
